Standard Spectrum refurbishment steps

All Spectrum packages undergo the following refurbishment steps:

ZX Spectrum 48K computer including the Plus version:

Power regulation test and component replacement if required.

Replace all capacitors.

Modify for composite video out.

Replace the keyboard membrane

Replace the keyboard faceplate if required. I prefer to keep the original if at all possible even though it may not be perfect.

PSU (Power supply unit):

Open and check for any obvious deterioration or damage.

Test on the bench.

Replace capacitor(s).

Replace mains lead and fit new UK plug.

Replace DC lead and barrel jack.
